Lansing, Mich. (WNDU) – On Wednesday, Gov. Gretchen Widmer announced she will participate in a five-day mission to Norway and Switzerland focused on bringing jobs and business investment back to Michigan.

While in Norway, Governor Widmer will meet with government and business leaders in Oslo, focusing on the mobility and hydrogen industries.

“The world is increasingly interconnected and it’s important for leaders in other countries to hear that Michigan plays an important role on the world stage, especially as we work to lead the future movement, bring supply chains home, and transition to energy independence with clean, domestic supply,” said Governor Whitmer in a statement. said in the press release. After Norway, Gov. Whitmer will attend the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting and speak on a panel titled “The Return of Manufacturing.”

The trip will be the first to Norway for a Michigan governor in history and the first since a visit to Switzerland in 2016.
