KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Tennessee Volunteers will face the ACC champion Clemson Tigers in the Orange Bowl, and the costs for tickets and some flights have already reached thousands of dollars.
Tickets for overhead seats range from $130 to $1,100, according to Vivid Seats. Prices are similar on other sites, but GameTime, a third-party ticket seller, has tickets as low as $126 as of Monday morning.
In addition to the ticket price, travelers should look at flight, hotel and gas costs.
Fans can fly to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale because the cities are so close together. According to United Airlines, a round-trip flight to Ft. Lauderdale costs over $900. The same flight costs less than $900 using American Airlines.
A flight to Miami via United was the cheapest on all flights as of Monday morning at $882. An American Airlines flight to Miami is about $1,170 as written.
Accommodation costs are lower in Ft. Lauderdale over Miami.
According to a hotel booking site, the cheapest price for a night’s stay in Miami is $400. The most affordable hotel in Ft. Lauderdale around $150-$200.
All prices for hotels and flights are as of Dec. For those departing on 29th and returning on 31st December. Prices will go up if people leave after the New Year.
A trip from Knoxville to Miami takes 12.5 hours. The average gas price for the round trip is about $230.
The Orange Bowl will use virtual tickets this year, however, people can purchase a commemorative ticket on the Orange Bowl’s website.
