BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – With the ushering in of a new year comes a list of resolutions – goals we must create or achieve over the next 365 days. Many in the Capital Region say they’re looking forward to a fresh start in 2023, with three common goals: fitness, wealth and travel.
“I’ve had a lot of trials and tribulations,” said Baton Rouge resident Danielle Lovely, noting that last year was full of lessons for her.
She’s not the only one with some flaws.
“2022 had some downs, but I had a lot of ups,” says Lovely’s friend Whitney Nixon.
From inflation to Covid-19, Darius Boykins says he’s glad the year is over and optimistic about the year ahead. “I mean, I feel good, always feel good,” he continued.
Many Baton Rouge residents say their New Year’s resolution is to succeed in two key areas — health and finances.
“To make sure I’m in my best self. That can be for me and my kids. They’ll have better health too,” laughed Lovely.
“So my plan is to insist on less work, less work smarter. As she said before, get this money,” Nixon insisted.
Boykins says after losing his father and sister in the past year. His goal this year is to focus.
“You can’t do anything you set your mind to. You know, you don’t know. Don’t put a time limit on anything just because you may have set some goals and not meet them in a certain time frame. That doesn’t mean you can’t still achieve it,” he said.
