Americans want to price smart about their travel experiences in the New Year because they’re open-minded about what they plan to book.
According to the latest Skyscanner data looking at travel preferences for 2023, US travelers will prioritize travel based on price in 2023. Travel firm Metasearch found that 46 percent plan to vacation in 2023 and 2022, and 41 percent think they’ll take more trips next year. Also, 86 percent of respondents said they plan to spend more on travel in 2023.
So, as next year’s vacations take precedence over other big-ticket items, it’s interesting to watch where people go. Viator, the tours and activities brand owned by TripAdvisor, has announced its list of fastest-growing travel experiences for 2022. From guided hikes in Puerto Rico to ghost town tours of York, the list is based on the most bookings over a period of time and is judged against more than 300 different experiences.
- Siesta Key Electric Bike Sunset Tour
- Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tour & Optional Skywalk with Hoover Dam Photo Stop
- Bonaventure Cemetery walking tour with transportation
- A chef-guided food tour of Pike Place Market
- Sunset Sail in Key West, drinks included
Siesta Key Electric Bike Sunset Tour is the most popular travel booking site. On the Ground, listed in the Mountain Biking category, this tour has about 590 reviews and 5 stars – although all tours included in Fastest Growing Experiences in the US and Canada have 5 stars.
The second and third spots include a full-day Grand Canyon tour and a walking tour of the cemetery. Unfortunately, Viator doesn’t detail the extent to which tours have grown or the number of overall bookings.
Types show that outdoor adventures with a green element or a wild twist are top of mind for day-trip bookings.
