Birmingham, Ala. (WBRC) – There are two kinds of people on Thanksgiving night, those settling in for a long weekend of food and football, and those preparing for a long weekend of sales.
More and more, people value experiences over goods, so instead of fighting the aisles to get discounts on the new few days, they’re looking to travel agents to do the hard work.
Clay Ingram with AAA Alabama says it’s a busy time for their agents. After cooperation during the pandemic, there is a high demand for travel and now is the time to find a good deal when planning your future vacation.
“Everybody’s trying to get this Black Friday, Cyber Monday shopping type of thing, and these travel retailers that we use and work with all the time are no exception,” Ingram said.
If you want to save money, buying the experience or planning to leave now is the way to go.
“Airfare has come down quite a bit in the past few weeks, so now is a great time to book spring travel for summer travel,” he added. “My wife and I booked the March to the Caribbean yesterday.”
Fortunately, Ingram says, you’ll have some time. Most travel deals last more than one day, like Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
“We have sales that come in every week,” Ingram explained. “They change from week to week. Sometimes cruises, sometimes guided tour packages, sometimes resort packages.”
Of course, the earlier you can book your trips, the better. Planning ahead is key to getting the best deal and the best price, says Ingram. AAA Alabama travel agents now have additional deals and where sales and bargains are, he adds.
Many people are surprised that many travel agents, including those at AAA, charge nothing for their expertise. All you pay is for your trip. For more information visit https://www.ace.aaa.com/travel.html.
