A fall storm will slow Sunday as vacationers try to head home.
Sunday is one of the busiest travel days of the Thanksgiving holiday, and the weather will create delays on the roads and in the air. Allow yourself extra time and consider traveling on a Saturday to avoid wet weather.
Time-wise, here in the city, early Sunday will be dry. It will rain at midnight. The worst rain falls in the afternoon and evening. Watch out for the rain. Rain will taper off on Sunday night.

The storm system will be centered in the Ohio Valley and will affect much of the eastern half of the country. Major airports such as Chicago, Atlanta, Charlotte, DC, Boston and NYC are all subject to delays and cancellations. The earlier you fly on a Sunday, the less likely you will face weather issues for your trip.

People traveling by road in this area cannot escape the storm. Fortunately, however, snow is not expected. Be prepared for wet roads and wipers in most of New York State, especially in Albany and the Adirondack region.
